The Hounds continued their revenge tour against the Blazers, claiming victory over a squad short one player by a score of 11-5 and extending their never-lose-again streak to 4 games.

Cole Thompson (P) started the game and contributed two innings, striking out two, before handing over the ball to the bullpen for the rest of the game. 

The Hounds were behind briefly (half an inning), allowing 3 runs in the first, before coming back with 4 in the bottom frame. Utility-man Brian Lehman (3B) put it where they wasn’t and strode easily to a triple, his first of two hits for the day. Birthday Boy Atticus Conway (EH/SS/P) came up to bat with two on and two outs, he delivered a single for the go ahead RBI. The starting pitcher, Thompson, calmed a bit in the second inning, allowing no free bases and holding the opposition to 1 run. Playing relief in the third, Pedro Rondón made his Hounds pitching debut. The rookie zipped strikes at a extraordinarily high clip (74.2%), offering no walks or runs over the next three innings of work. In support, the Hounds broke the game open in the 4th, scoring multiple runs thanks to some balls-put-in-play and defensive miscues. After an initial scoring hiccup, the Hounds’ best minds convened and calculated the total runs scored in that inning as four (although at least 1 teammate disagreed). For additional insurance in the fifth, Phil Oweimrin (RF) slapped a liner back up the middle, and Cole Thompson drove him in on a “where they ain’t” opposite field double. Following an extended conversation about whether or not to keep playing at 8:04 PM, a dusty Tim Riggenbach (1B/EH/P/SS) smacked and scampered for a triple and was granted a pass home thanks to an RBI ground out by Brandon Jessee (CF). Atticus took the mound for the final inning, (relieving a relieving Riggs), requiring only seven strikes (and no balls) to seal the deal.

After the victory, the 9-5-1 Hounds headed to K’s to enjoy a few High Lifes and ice their arms. The team will take on the DegenerateX and White Sox on two consecutive noon games over the weekend.
