French allowed 6 hits and only 2 earned runs in the 111-pitch effort, looking untouchable at times.

The Hounds nearly escaped the first inning unscathed, but the White Sox took an early 1-run lead on an uncorraleable ball in right center. However, the Hounds quickly turned the tide in the bottom of the inning, capitalizing on leadoff hits by Lehman (CF) and Sells (SS), a textbook bunt by Rondón (2B) and a laser line drive by Malafronte (3B) leading to a pair of runs. A pair of Sox errors tacked on one more. and errors by the White Sox to score three runs and take a 3-1 lead. A leadoff ROE by Correa (C) and follow-up Lehman single were converted to two more runs in the 2nd.

The White Sox tacked on two a piece in the 3rd and 6th inning, the latter tying the game at 5 runs each. The Hounds’ offense stayed resilient, and in the bottom of the 6th inning, they scored a crucial run to take a 6-5 lead. With one out in the sixth, Tim Riggenbach (RF) singled and Hans Hetrick (EH) took a ball in the arm to put two on the paths. The Sox recorded one more out, looking to escape out of the inning, but Lehman spoiled there plans with a slicing line drive single, which scored Riggenbach to put his team up 1. Sells attempted to add some insurance on a liner to left, but an erroneous catch call was made by the umpire, ending the inning.

French closed the book on the game with three straight outs, the last two on strikes (one of which included an audible “Yeah!” from the starter come closer)The Hounds improved to 16-5 on the season with the victory.
