Write up from Matt Burch:
The Hounds topped the Pirates 1-0 today, led by a hangover and newly engaged Tim Riggenbach.
As the Hounds faithful know, Tim pitches his best with a slight headache and a bac sitting in the .06 – .10 range, which was the case today. Riggenbach was “PHENOMENAL” on the mound as noted by commissioner/Pirates manager Jeff Papadopolopoditis posting a 4 hit complete game shutout.
Offensively the Hounds were led by the Mayor of Maywood, Hans Hetrick, who drove in the games only run, scoring Kurt Kerrigan who reached on a single up the middle – then stole second, and room third on an overthrow. Also notably, Coop made a debatable (incorrect) call in the second inning calling out Alex Garcia at home, luckily Tim shut the door nullifying any potential issue.
The Hounds committed one error on defense. However, the offending Hound totally redeemed himself by throwing out a runner at third, on what may have been the most baffling managerial decision in the 2018 CMBA season this year.
Overall a fantastic game topped off with a free champagne toast to Tim and Anne (congrats to the happy couple!!) at Scratch Kitchen.
See you tomorrow as the Hounds take on the Browns in another decisive game at Proveeeeeso West at 9:30.
