Orioles Seize Game Early

The Hounds woes at Walther Luther Academy continued Sunday morning with an 8-1 loss to the Orioles.

Tim Riggenbach (#8) took the mound for the Hounds. The southpaw’s stuff looked sharp but the Orioles were still able to score 5 earned runs over 6 innings and 98 pitches. Hans Hetrick (#18, 1B/P) performed mop up duty, earning three outs on no runs. Notably neither pitcher allowed a home run to Jake Tedlund, the Hounds-terror had to settle for one measly sac fly RBI. Sophomore Phil Oweimrin (#25) contributed an errorless day in right field, securing 4 putouts and an assist on a throw to catcher Phil Zelenka (#21, LF/C) who magically tagged out a runner attempting to score. Phil O plus five other Hounds (Lehman (#2, 3B), Burch (#6, EH/1B), Kruse (#11, EH), Correa (#13, C), Reinke (#14, LF)) notched base hits, but no Hound notched any extra-baggers.

The Hounds three game weekend ended flatly, dropping 2 out of 3 contests. The next scheduled game on Sunday, May 30 against the Browns, kicking off a 5 games in 8 days stretch.
