Great game, great win, Hounds keep playoff hopes alive

In a game filled with fantastic pitching and defense by both teams, the Hounds were able to defeat the Yankees 4-3 today at Winnemac Park to improve to 15-12 and keep their playoff hopes alive.

Kurt Kerrigan (#12, P) faced 31 batters, striking out 4, and got the complete game win. Nick Schmidt (#23, CF) and Mike DiCola (#28, RF) led the offense with 3 runs and 3 RsBI combined. Tim Riggenbach (#8, LF) also scored. Schmidt and DiCola also tracked down every ball in the outfield and Schmidt had an outfield assist. The Hounds infield was solid, with Matthew Steffens (#5, SS) leading the way with 5 assists and a putout on a double play at shortstop (with a save in the dirt by Matt Burch (#6, 1B) to complete the double play).

The Hounds next play the Pirates at 9:30 am on Saturday at Maywood (the previous schedule had the game time wrong). The Pirates, Aviators, and Electrons are the Hounds main rivals for a playoff spot, so this is another must win for the Hounds.

See you there!
